中新网合肥10月19日电 (记者 吴兰)记者19日从安徽师范大学获悉,该校校长熊宇杰教授与联合团队利用激光辐照所产生的效应,实现了亚纳米级高熵合金的创制。
据介绍,该方法具有广泛的普适性,可制备含有多达十种金属元素的亚纳米级高熵合金。相关研究成果近日发表在《自然·材料》(Nature Materials)上。
将五种甚至更多不同种类的金属“融合”成一种结构均匀的新型合金——也就是“高熵合金”,一直以来都是极具挑战的科学难题。

如果还要把它们做到亚纳米级别,尺寸极小,难度就更大。熊宇杰打了个比方说:“就像要把五个以上性格、喜好各不相同的人聚在一起,还要和睦相处,显然需要花费大力气。”现实中,不同金属之间也常常“合不来”,因此传统的高熵合金合成通常需要在高温下进行,对元素种类也有限制,合成的合金尺寸也偏大。
科研团队创新性地使用了激光辐照技术,在温和条件下实现了多种金属的均匀混合,并成功制备出亚纳米级别的高熵合金颗粒。纳秒脉冲激光可以在极短时间内将颗粒表面温度迅速提升至2000摄氏度以上,再以每秒超过十亿度的速度迅速冷却。这一快热快冷的过程,突破了传统合成方法的限制,不仅让不同金属元素均匀分散并合金化,还可以实现颗粒尺寸的微小化。
高熵合金在多个领域,尤其是新能源方面,展现出广阔的应用前景,是一种极具潜力的催化剂材料。而这种新型激光合成方法大大拓宽了高熵合金的材料选择范围,有望推动其在更多关键领域的实际应用。
熊宇杰解释说:“高熵合金就像一个团队,每种金属元素就像团队中的成员,各有所长。在执行任务时,每个人做自己最擅长的事;而且在一起还可以做各自做不了的事,整个团队的效率自然大大提高。”据介绍,科研团队制备的由金、铂、钌、铑、铱五种金属组成的亚纳米高熵合金,正是作为电解水催化剂,表现出优异的产氢、产氧活性和稳定性。(完)
